Mask-Assisted Deposition of Ti on Cyclic Olefin Copolymer Foil by Pulsed Laser Deposition

Cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) is a novel type of thermoplastic polymer gaining the attention scientific community in electronic, optoelectronic, biomedicine and packaging applications. Despite benefits use COC such as undoubted optical transparency, chemical stability, good water–vapor barrier biocompatibility, its original hydrophobicity restricts wider applicability optimization performances. Presently, we report on morphological properties films covered with Ti selected areas. The layer was deposited by pulsed lased deposition processing. Ti/COC film characterized UV–Vis spectroscopy indicating that transmittance visible region decreased about 20% respect to pristine polymer. quality assessed morphology scanning electron (SEM) atomic force microscopies (AFM). modification wettability observed sessile drop method reduction native hydrophilicity.
